Essence of Grace Yorkies – 1-Year Health Guarantee
At Essence of Grace Yorkies, the health and well-being of our puppies is our top priority. We raise our Yorkshire Terriers with careful planning, veterinary oversight, and ethical breeding practices. This Health Guarantee is designed to be clear, fair, and transparent, protecting both the puppy and the Buyer while setting realistic expectations.
This guarantee does not imply lifetime coverage or insurance replacement. It outlines exactly what is — and is not — covered.
1. Short-Term Health Warranty (72 Hours)
All puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian before leaving our care.
Buyer Requirements:
The puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours (3 days) of pickup or delivery.
If the puppy is deemed unfit for purchase, Buyer must:
Provide a written veterinary statement within 48 hours of the exam.
Return the puppy to the Seller.
Outcome:
Buyer may receive a full refund of the purchase price upon return of the puppy.
Important Notes:
Failure to complete the veterinary exam within 72 hours voids this short-term warranty.
Minor or common puppy conditions are not covered, including but not limited to:
Ear or eye infections
Kennel cough or mild respiratory illness
Parasites or worms
2. Mandatory 30-Day Pet Insurance Requirement
To protect the puppy during the critical transition period, active pet insurance is required for the first 30 days after go-home.
We provide access to Trupanion’s 30-day free coverage as a courtesy.
However, Buyers may choose any reputable pet insurance provider.
Insurance Requirements:
Insurance must be activated within 72 hours of pickup or delivery
Coverage must remain active for a minimum of 30 consecutive days
Proof of activation may be requested
Failure to activate pet insurance within the first 30 days may result in this Health Guarantee being void, particularly for illness, injury, or emergency events occurring during that time.
Why Insurance Is Required
The transition to a new home can be stressful for puppies and may increase health risks. Early insurance coverage ensures:
Immediate access to emergency or specialty care
Financial protection for the Buyer
Responsible planning for the puppy’s well-being
This requirement helps prevent misunderstandings and protects everyone involved.
3. Veterinary Care & Parasite Protocol
Puppies are dewormed and fecal tested by our veterinarian before going home.
A final fecal sample is submitted to a laboratory near the go-home date.
Any treatable parasite detected before departure is treated accordingly.
Important:
Once a puppy leaves our care, environmental exposure can result in new parasites.
We cannot guarantee parasite-free status after go-home.
Parasites, even if detected shortly after arrival, are not covered under this Health Guarantee.
4. Long-Term Health Guarantee (1 Year from Date of Birth)
We provide a 1-Year Health Guarantee from the puppy’s date of birth against severe congenital or hereditary conditions that significantly affect quality of life, including:
Congenital heart defects
Portosystemic (liver) shunt
Hydrocephalus
Severe kidney or lung defects
If a Covered Condition Is Diagnosed:
Buyer must notify Seller immediately.
Full veterinary records must be provided.
Seller reserves the right to request a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice.
Buyer Options:
Keep the puppy and receive reimbursement up to the purchase price, OR
Return the puppy for a replacement or refund per contract terms.
In the Event of Death:
A necropsy must be performed within 3 business days at Buyer’s expense.
If death is caused by a covered congenital condition, Buyer will receive a full refund.
